The short version: We collect only what we need to process your ticket purchase and send you confirmation. We don't sell your data, we don't spam you, and we don't share your information with advertisers.
1. Who we are
Showday Tickets LTD ("Showday", "we", "us", "our") is a company registered in England & Wales under company number 17168332. We operate the ticketing platform at showday.co.uk. For data protection purposes, Showday Tickets LTD is the data controller.

2. What data we collect
When you buy a ticket
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we never store your card details)
- The event, ticket tier, quantity and order reference
- Your IP address and browser information (for fraud prevention)
When you visit the site
- Pages visited, time on site, and referral source via Google Analytics (anonymised)
- Browser type, device type and approximate location (country/city level)
- Cookies — see Section 7 below
When you register as a promoter
- Your name, email address and password (hashed — we cannot read it)
- Your Stripe Connect account details (handled directly by Stripe)
- Event details, sales data and payout history
3. How we use your data
- To process your order — confirm your booking, send your e-ticket and QR code
- To provide customer support — respond to queries, process refunds
- To prevent fraud — verify purchases and protect against chargebacks
- To improve the platform — understand how the site is used via anonymised analytics
- To comply with the law — keep financial records as required by HMRC
We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Who we share your data with
We share the minimum necessary data with the following trusted third parties:
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention (stripe.com/privacy)
- Brevo — transactional email delivery (brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy)
- MongoDB Atlas — secure database hosting (mongodb.com/legal/privacy-policy)
- Google Analytics — anonymised site analytics (policies.google.com/privacy)
- Hetzner Online GmbH — cloud hosting provider, Germany (hetzner.com/legal/privacy-policy)
- The event promoter — your name and email are shared with the promoter of events you purchase tickets for, so they can manage their guest list and contact you about the event
We do not share your data with any other third parties without your explicit consent.
5. How long we keep your data
- Order records — 7 years (required for tax and accounting purposes)
- Account data — until you request deletion, then within 30 days
- Analytics data — 26 months (Google Analytics default)
- Email logs — 90 days
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@showday.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Cookies
We use the following cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (session management, checkout state)
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, used to understand site usage (anonymised). You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use cookies to build profiles for third-party advertising.
8. Data security
We take security seriously. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers. Our database is hosted on MongoDB Atlas with access controls and encryption at rest.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify registered promoters by email. Continued use of Showday after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
