Effective date: 19 April 2026 · Showday Tickets LTD · Company No. 17168332
Showday exists to connect real fans with real promoters running legitimate UK live events. This policy sets out what everyone using the platform must not do. It is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use (for ticket buyers) and our Promoter Terms (for anyone selling tickets).
1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to ticket buyers, event promoters, dashboard users, API consumers, and anyone else interacting with Showday — our website, our apps, our emails, our support channels, and our staff.
2. Prohibited events
You may not list, sell tickets for, or promote any event that:
- Breaches the laws of the United Kingdom, or of the place where the event is held;
- Constitutes or promotes regulated gambling without an appropriate Gambling Commission licence and point-of-sale age verification;
- Involves the sale or supply of alcohol without a premises licence, Temporary Event Notice or equivalent permission;
- Involves the sale or distribution of controlled drugs, firearms, ammunition, knives, tobacco or vapes to minors, or prescription-only medicines;
- Promotes hatred or discrimination against a person or group by reference to race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or age;
- Constitutes or promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or the glorification of such;
- Contains or promotes adult sexual content without robust age verification at the point of purchase and at the venue door;
- Is an unlicensed rave, unlawful assembly, or an event the organiser does not have lawful authority to run at the stated venue;
- Promotes, enables or obscures financial crime, money laundering, or tax evasion;
- Sells tickets for an event, venue, sports fixture or artist performance without authorisation from the rights holder or event organiser;
- Misrepresents the line-up, venue, date, capacity, age restriction, or any other material fact;
- Involves counterfeit goods, including counterfeit ticket merchandise or unauthorised replicas;
- Breaches the UK sanctions regime, or seeks to process payments for sanctioned persons or territories.
Where we have reasonable doubt about an event's lawfulness or authorisation, we may require you to provide documentary evidence (for example, a premises licence, TENS, or written authorisation from the rights holder) before we publish or continue to host the listing.
3. Prohibited conduct
Whether you are a buyer, a promoter, or using the platform in any other way, you may not:
- Use Showday to commit fraud, attempt fraud, or assist another person to do either;
- Create multiple accounts to evade a suspension, a ban, or a per-order purchase limit;
- Use another person's payment card, identity, or account without their authority;
- Use bots, automated scripts, CAPTCHA solvers or queue-jumping software to buy tickets;
- Resell Showday tickets above face value, or through any channel other than Showday's official resale feature (see Terms §8);
- List fake tickets, duplicate QR codes, or tickets you do not own or have already transferred;
- Artificially inflate demand, price, traffic or order volume — including by placing and cancelling orders to manipulate availability displays;
- Scrape, crawl, copy or redistribute Showday event data, pricing, imagery or code without our prior written permission;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code from any Showday application or API;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any Showday infrastructure, account, or other users' data — including by credential stuffing, brute force, session hijacking, or exploiting a vulnerability;
- Introduce malware, viruses, worms, spyware or any other harmful code;
- Conduct, attempt or facilitate a denial-of-service or resource-exhaustion attack;
- Send unsolicited bulk communication (spam) via Showday, or harvest email addresses or phone numbers from the platform;
- Abuse, threaten, intimidate, harass, or make discriminatory remarks to other users, Showday staff, or venue staff — via email, chat, social media, review text, or any other channel;
- Impersonate another person, organisation, artist, venue or Showday itself;
- Circumvent safety, age-verification, accessibility, or payout-hold features;
- Use Showday's name, logo, trademarks or brand elements except in ways we have expressly authorised.
4. Content standards
All content you post on Showday — listings, promoter profiles, images, video, messages, reviews, replies — must be:
- Accurate and not misleading;
- Lawful in the United Kingdom and in any territory where it is accessible;
- Yours to post, or used with a valid licence;
- Free of personal data about third parties whose consent you do not have;
- Respectful — no slurs, no hate, no discrimination, no targeted harassment;
- Free of malware, hidden tracking pixels, or redirect scripts.
5. Protecting children
Where an event or content may involve persons under 18:
- Promoters must clearly mark age restrictions on the listing (for example, 18+, 16+, family, all-ages);
- Where children will attend, promoters must confirm appropriate safeguarding is in place and must comply with any licensing or local-authority conditions;
- Identifiable images of children must not be published without explicit parental or guardian consent;
- Direct marketing must not be targeted at persons you reasonably believe to be under 18.
6. Our enforcement
We don't enjoy enforcement, but we act decisively where this policy is breached. Depending on severity and context, we may:
- Issue a warning and require corrective action by a stated deadline;
- Remove specific listings or content;
- Pause payouts pending investigation;
- Suspend an account temporarily;
- Close an account permanently and void outstanding listings;
- Decline to refund platform fees where an event is removed for breach;
- Report the matter to Trading Standards, the Competition and Markets Authority, the Information Commissioner's Office, HMRC, the Gambling Commission, the relevant licensing authority, the police, or Action Fraud;
- Take civil or criminal legal action;
- Cooperate with law enforcement, court orders, and regulatory requests — including the lawful disclosure of user data.
An enforcement decision can be appealed by writing to legal@showday.co.uk within 14 days. We will review appeals fairly and respond in writing.
7. Reporting a breach
If you believe someone is breaching this policy, please tell us. Email hello@showday.co.uk with "AUP Report" in the subject line, and include as much detail as you can — the event or account involved, what you've seen, and any evidence (screenshots are helpful).
We treat reports confidentially and will not share your identity with the reported party, except where we are legally required to do so. If a crime is in progress, or anyone is in immediate danger, please call 999 first.
8. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect legal changes, new platform features, or lessons from how the platform is being used. The current version is always published at showday.co.uk/acceptable-use.html. Promoters receive at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or dashboard. Buyers are bound by the version of this policy in effect at the time of their purchase.
